Steeler 59S "Ocean Camp"

After many years of sailing cruises in Norway and after taking early retirement, we wanted to explore new horizons, such as the rivers and canals of Northern Europe.
Convinced that the Netherlands is home to some of Europe’s finest yacht builders, we began our search online and came across a drawing of the beautiful Steeler 50 S, which immediately caught our attention.
After visiting several yards and boat shows, we finally arrived at Steeler Yachts, a young and forward-thinking shipyard that was able to meet our long list of ideas and requirements for a personalized yacht.
We were not looking for a mass-produced vessel, but for a custom-built yacht of high quality and practical functionality, wrapped in a timeless and striking design.

During the design phase, we realised that rivers and canals would not suit our plans. A boat large enough for comfort would simply be too wide for the locks.
So we changed course and chose the design of an offshore yacht for year-round living, suitable for both the sunny Mediterranean and the cold, impressive Norwegian coast.
We aimed for the smallest possible size that could still accommodate all essential equipment and comfort zones. All equipment, from the tender and kayaks to diving and ski gear, had to be stored safely inside the yacht.
The result was the Steeler 59 S and, after a year of cruising from Denmark to Italy, we can truly call her our floating home, full of new adventures.
The build process went remarkably smoothly, guided by Niels and Yorrith, who followed up every detail through calls, emails and yard visits.
From the first laser-cut steel plates, about 1,500 pieces stacked on the floor, to the final white hull with its elegant lines, it was incredibly special to witness the transformation.

It is almost hard to believe that the yacht is built in steel, a strong and durable hull that creates a safe and fully insulated living environment.
With Kabola central heating, double floor heating, mechanical ventilation, full air conditioning and UV-protective glass, the onboard climate is perfect in every season.
At cruising speed, the two Cummins engines, in combination with Magnus Master stabilisers, provide quiet, efficient and comfortable long-distance passages.
We explore remote coasts and enjoy our 40-knot waterjet tender, kayaks, bicycles, diving equipment, ski and hiking gear, or simply relax in the hammock.
A motor yacht suits this lifestyle far better than a sailing boat: more space, light and comfort at anchor or in port, and easier handling thanks to twin props, powerful bow and stern thrusters and a wireless remote control.
After docking, the Baudouin freshwater wash system makes cleaning fast and free of chemicals.
Since the recent takeover of the yard, every issue on board has been addressed until fully resolved, which gives us complete confidence to choose Steeler again when we build our next steel or aluminium yacht.
