When sports, health and the environment determine your yacht… The owners’ wish was to build the most efficient twin-diesel steel yacht on the market — which Steeler delivered, achieving a consumption over 8,000 NM at an average of 2.7 liters per nautical mile. Built around sports and health: an “Ocean Camp” for watersport activities with 2 kayaks, 2 mountain bikes, a diving room, waterskis, snow ski equipment, and a gym in the cockpit. And for a healthy lifestyle: a gym in the cockpit, a hammock, a bread oven for daily fresh bread underway, and a separate fresh air ventilation system when heating or air conditioning are not required. The layout had to be fully usable when cruising with a crew of just two. The foreship features a suite with lounge, office, and double bed — with a sliding door to transform the bed into a second master suite. After two years of long-distance cruising, the wish list for an even smaller ecological footprint developed, resulting in the order for the 61S Electric — to date, the only electrically propelled steel trawler with transatlantic range.
