When you are obsessed to break your own record… The 61S Electric builds on the experience of the 59S Ocean Camp, pushing the levels of environmental footprint, use of space, and functionality to a level unmatched in the industry. All driven by an obsessed owner with a clear vision on the future of yachting. The hull design, in combination with the electrical propulsion — supported by solar panels and a 75 kW generator — resulted in a combined fuel consumption of 0.7 liter per nautical mile and a range of over 3,000 miles. With the 10-hour electrical range on the batteries, most day trips are on electricity only. The chosen size limitation of 18 meters, due to mooring characteristics in Norway, combined with the volume requirement, resulted in the choice for a full-beam hull accommodation, originally introduced by Steeler Yachts in 2015 in the award-winning Panorama. The end result: 75% less fuel and 200% more volume on virtually the same LOA as the Ocean Camp. Mission accomplished.
